Public Safety Fair - May 5, 2012

Below is a press release from Milton Police Lieutenant John Conger regarding the upcoming Public Safety Fair on May 5, 2012.




On Saturday, May 5th, we will be hosting our second annual Public Safety Fair at Northside Intermediate School. The Fair is an opportunity for community members to familiarize themselves with many facets of public safety, and related professions. Participating in the event are the City of Milton Police Department, Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Janesville Area Crimestoppers, Rock County Health Department, Mercy Health Systems ThinkFirst program, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Milton Fire Department and EMS, University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, and the Milton Public Library.

The event runs from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. 


The Fair will feature the following live demonstrations:
  • 10:30 a.m.: Taser
  • 11:30 a.m.: Rock County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team 
  • 12:00 p.m.: Rock County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit 
The University of Wisconsin Med-Flight Helicopter is scheduled to land at the event; however, it is unknown at what time. A DNR Warden will also be on hand to educate those attending about invasive species, and how to decontaminate watercraft.
